Brothers Vincent A. and Lawrence J. have been working in the healthcare industry for the past three decades, owning two other successful companies – East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp. (ECOP) and Span Link International.  When COVID-19 hit and upended the lives of so many, they mobilized and answered New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s call to manufacture personal protective equipment on Long Island, NY by forming SECURE WEAR USA.  The company has been manufacturing FDA certified 3-ply surgical masks, as well as face shields in a brand-new facility in Ronkonkoma, NY. Creating Secure Wear USA was a personal effort for the Benenatis, as Vincent, his wife and some of his grown children contracted the virus early on.


“Getting COVID-19 early on was scary because there was so much uncertainty.  I worried about my parents, my wife, my kids, my grandkids, my siblings, my employees.  You never stop worrying about your family but something like COVID just caught us all by surprise,” said CEO, Vincent A. Benenati.  “My brother and I wanted to make sure that our family and our employees at ECOP and Span Link, as well as all the brave frontline workers, were protected.”


“Knowing that COVID was spreading so quickly and that we were so dependent on other countries for our own PPE made it abundantly clear that not only were we going to source PPE for frontline workers in need, but we needed to manufacture them so that we would not end up in this position again,” added President, Lawrence J. Benenati.


The PM360 ELITE Awards were established in 2015 to recognize individuals who have made a significant impact on the healthcare industry throughout their careers.
